What events are planned for the project?
Each sponsor’s name will be displayed at each event associated with this project among these events are:
- Dawg Arrival- Naked (unpainted)
bulldawgs arrive in Mecosta County
- Unleashing Party– At Riverdays Festival,
finished dawgs are displayed and later moved
to their display sites
- Labor Day 5K Run– Coordination with
Leadership Mecosta 5K race to promote Year
of the Dawg project.
- Dawg Wash– All bulldawgs are
cleaned and readied for auction
- Bark in the Park– Official display
period begins. Maps to the dawgs are
distributed.
- Auction– Sponsor dawgs are
sold at online auction, profits go to local
organizations
- Scavenger hunt– All community members
who visit all dawgs will be entered into a
drawing for various prizes
-Traveling Dawg– One dawg, which
displays all sponsor names, will make an
appearance at various Mecosta County events
(area festivals, fairs, parades, etc.)

- Continue to promote project while artists create art

- “Run with the Dawgs” – 5K run/walk
- All other Riverdays festivities
- October – December 2008
- Dawgs remain on display
- FSU Homecoming (including parade)
- FSU Football celebrating 100th year of Bulldog Football
- January – March 2009
- Dawgs remain on display
- Involvement in Festival of the Arts (many different events)
- April 2009
- Washing the Dawgs (event)
- May – September 2009
- “Official” display begins with maps
- Continue to promote project
- Same parades and fairs as last summer
- October 2009
- Online auction
- Project “officially” ends
